Bee Club

The Bee club is based at the horticultural centre in Wythenshawe Park. They meet through out the year every Saturday 9.30am – 1300pm. The aim of the Wythenshawe park bee club club is to provide safe and fun bee keeping whilst also raising awareness of the beautiful surrounding’s within the park.

Activities

Members are involved in all aspects of bee keeping, including;
• Active inspection of the hives
• Monitoring of disease’s and prevention
• Processing of honey and wax
• Building and maintenance of equipment

Meeting take place in the Wythenshawe Horticultural canter, Class room 4 every Saturday 9.30 – 1300.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome to our activities but a prearranged invitation is required. They run regular activities and lessons and are always happy to welcome new members.

  • Requirements
    Absolutely no previous experience is required. Specialist equipment such as suits will be provided initially, but you will need some of your own items:
  • Wellingtons.
    Close fitting gloves. i.e washing up gloves
  • *Children must be accompanied by an adult*

Honey can be purchased direct from the club Saturday 9:30am – 12:00 or out of hours via the wardens office next door. Also from the farm shop located within Wythenshawe park, open 11:30 – 16:00, Mon, Wed, Fri or contact us direct to make other arrangements.
